Golden Hour is proud to partner with the County food hub to host a 50/50 raffle. A paper ticket raffle will be happening on both concert days, at start of the event and in-between sets
Prince Edward County Food Hub (AKA “County Food Hub”) is the kitchen that saved a school! County Food Hub is a leading edge certified commercial sharing kitchen, providing chefs, caterers, home cooks, food product developers and food security organizations with industry-best equipment, space, time and storage to serve their diverse needs.
During the COVID-19 crisis, County Food Hub has worked for free, with local food security groups and their volunteer networks to produce and distribute 3000+ ready-to-heat meals and store over 10,000 lbs of foodstuffs for residents in need.
Born out of the availability of excess space within a local elementary school scheduled for closure, County Food Hub is a great example of how to ensure a stronger commitment to rural education while supporting the needs of a vital culinary industry and developing a broader commitment to sustainable healthy food development and education.
As a Canadian festival we recognize the importance to make space for Black, Indigenous and People of Colour artists. Making Space is our commitment to do just that, to make space, as part of Golden Hour. We contracted two female identifying indigenous artists, Chief Lady Bird and Keitha Keeshig-Tobias to create two commemorative art prints which will be sold in a limited run benefitting the causes of their choice in their communities. Their artist fees have NOT been removed from the proceeds, they are considered a part of our team.
We showcased works by Keitha Keeshig-Tobias as part of a drive through exhibition for all guests to view on their way into the festival, as well Keitha was on site in our vendor market selling her prints and work.
We urge you to follow these amazing artists and pick up a print in support of their causes. They are available in the merch section of our store online (shipping ONLY within Canada only unfortunately)
You also have the chance to own a piece of Golden Hour history. Bid on one of our limited edition commemorative prints from Chief Lady Bird and Keitha Keeshig-Tobias, signed by performing artists Stars, Whitehorse, The Sadies and Dizzy. This auction will be open for one week only starting Sept. 25th at noon and all proceeds will benefit the artists cause of choice. Check out our Merch page for details
We recognize there is a lot of work to be done within the Canadian music and arts industries and we pledge to continue to support and elevate Black, Indigenous and People of Colour’s voices in our community.
